New VR Telescope Lets You Time Travel to 1600s Paris4/20/2017 3:45 PM Eastern
A new publicly available VR telescope called Timescope has been installed near the Pont d’Arcole bridge in Paris, allowing passers-by a 360-degree glimpse at the very streets surrounding them as they appeared in 1628.
Explains Conde Nast Traveler, "By looking into the machine, which is free to use, you’ll see the cargo barges and fishing trawlers that once crowded the busy river. Point the telescope in a different direction, and see 17th-century architecture and streets built for carriages instead of Citroëns."
